I’ve been lobbying the Government for total redevelopment of Watford General Hospital ever since I first became Watford’s Member of Parliament in 2010.
I was delighted that Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock confirmed £400 million for new build emergency and specialist care facilities!
The Health Campus is well underway with the opening of Thomas Sawyer Way and Trade City.
The money will fund the refurbishment of Watford General providing word class facilities, together with some development of the other West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust sites in Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.
We will be able to provide staff and patients with well deserved state of the art facilities.
I am delighted with the news and feel incredibly proud of all the NHS staff that have helped this to happen!
