I am looking for an idea which will make a significant difference to our lives in Watford, and to make it an even better place to live and work. I want this idea to be yours.
Have you ever had an idea about what could improve Watford? It could be something to help jobs, businesses, old people, young people, indeed anybody. It could be simple such as a new use for an empty building, or the development of a sports or leisure facility. I am looking for a good idea that is practical, that I will help you implement, and you could win £1,000.
This is a very exciting time for Watford, with the Health Campus development, new Transport projects and we have world- class companies and organisations based here.
To build on this momentum, I want to create a new Big Idea for Watford, something that will make a real difference in the town for years to come, and something that we can all be proud of.
I have launched the ‘Big Idea’ competition to invite anybody that lives or works in Watford to enter any idea they have had, that we can work together to get it done. The competition is open to absolutely anybody, individuals or groups, of any age.
Competition finalists will be picked by an independent panel and the winner will be picked by a public vote. There is a £1000 cash prize for the best idea, and £500 for the first, and £250 for the second runners up.
This is your opportunity to have your say in the future of the town and make your idea a reality. I hope that the whole town will get involved, submit your idea or vote for your favourite.
The competition is run by myself, the Watford Observer, Watford Chamber of Commerce and Watford based company Twin Tech Ltd.
You have until 14th September to enter. Application forms and further information can be found on the website- www.watfordsbigidea.co.uk, you can email bigidea@watfordsbigidea.co.uk or call 0207 219 7180.
