On Thursday 18th November 2017, Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group's (HVCCG) finance committee decided to withdraw funding for Nascot Lawn, a respite centre for children in Watford.
On hearing the news, Mr Harrington said:
" This decision is very disappointing, and my thoughts are with the families affected.
I am hugely supportive of a blended funding solution and that’s what I will continue to work towards, despite the news. I will be meeting with families affected soon to discuss our next step, and doing everything I can to find a way forward, and save Nascot Lawn."
Watford MP Richard Harrington will be discussing the next steps with the families affected and other Hertfordshire MPs. He will also be bringing this to the attention of the Department for Health as well as NHS England, who HVCCG report to.
