Following the success of the Jobs Fair he held last year which saw 60 companies and 4,500 local people attend, with over 300 people get jobs in small companies alone, MP for Watford, Richard Harrington has announced a new Jobs Fair this summer.
Since the last Fair, Richard has been working hard with Watford businesses and organisations of all sizes to increase the number of Apprenticeships and jobs in Watford. He is now calling on any Watford company with jobs to advertise to take a free stall at this summer’s event and join some of the big companies that have already signed up.
The Fair is being held on Thursday 28th June at the Langley Banqueting Suites, Watford High Street between 10 am and 4 pm. It is free of charge for all companies or individuals to attend. Hundreds of jobs and Apprenticeships will be on offer as well as advice on C.V. writing, application and interview skills and much more.
The event is supported by Watford company Camelot and run in conjunction with Watford Job Centre Plus, West Herts College and the National Apprenticeship Service.
Anybody interested in attending can call Richard’s office on 0207 219 7180 or email jobsfair@richardharrington.org.uk.
Richard said:
“ I am very pleased to be hosting this second Jobs Fair. I was thrilled with the results last year which made a real difference in helping hundreds of people into jobs.
“ Unemployment levels in Watford are of real concern to me and I wanted to again take practical action to help people find sustainable jobs or Apprenticeships and help people gain the crucial skills needed to join or return to the workplace.
“ I have written to over 1000 companies of all sizes in Watford inviting them to attend, many of whom have told me of their struggles to recruit local people.
“ I am very encouraged by the number of companies that have already signed up from big Hotel companies to small start up companies, offering lots of different jobs. I hope that this year’s Fair will be even bigger and better than last year.”
