On 27th April 2018, Richard Harrington MP announced the winners of his local art competition.
Earlier this year, Richard Harrington MP organised an art competition for local schools to mark the 100 year anniversary of women getting the right to vote for the first time.
The Representation of the People Act 1918 was a vital step towards the rights women have today, and the centenary of that Act is an important opportunity for us to reflect on our progress.
Students were invited to get creative and design anything from a suffragette banner or sash, to a badge, photo or drawing.
Richard Harrington MP said:
“We had over 100 entries from six local schools and I was so impressed by the high quality of the work and the creativity shown! I'm delighted to announce the names of the winners.”
