On Friday 13th July 2018, Richard Harrington MP will host an EqualiTEA in central Watford to mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918. These will be happening up and down the country, but all the proceeds from Watford’s one will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Richard Harrington says:
“The Representation of the People Act 1918 was a vital step towards the rights women have today, and the centenary of that Act is an important opportunity for us to reflect on our progress. That we’ve seen two female Prime Ministers in that time shows just how far we’ve come. But we’ve still got a way to go. “
“That’s why I’m encouraging residents across Watford mark the occasion and also chat about the issues over a cup of tea. All are welcome but please do RSVP so I can make sure there’s enough tea!”
The Tea is on Friday 13th July from 4pm, at Oddfellows Hall, 22 The Avenue, Watford.
Attendees should RSVP by emailing Richard on richard@richardharrington.org.uk
