During this week’s Prime Ministers Questions David Cameron praised the record number of new companies in Watford in response to a question from Watford MP Richard Harrington.
Mr Harrington raised the question following the release of figures that show that during the second quarter of 2012, 372 new businesses were formed in Watford, the highest ever number and he welcomed the drastic increase in private enterprise.
In his response, the Prime Minister welcomed these figures and spoke about the importance on enterprise for local and national economies.
Today Richard has said;
“These figures are hugely encouraging and show that more and more people are confident about setting up a business, and that they’re choosing Watford as the place to do it.
“Watford is a great place to do business, we already have several thousand small businesses based in the town as well as many large ones. I hope that the number of local businesses continues to increase, bringing new jobs and local growth.
“ I am pleased that the Prime Minister agreed with me about the importance of enterprise and I am sure that the measures introduced by the Government to encourage and support enterprise have been a great help.”
