In March 2016, Richard Harrington ran a survey of train users to ask them what they wanted from the next franchise period (2017 onwards) and franchisee of the West Coast Main Line – our trains from Watford to Euston and on the Abbey Line.
Over 400 people responded to the survey which Richard presented to the Department for Transport as they formulated their demands from rail operators.
Recognising the strength of demand from local people, London Midland agreed to bring in a new service on the Abbey Line.
From Sunday 11th December a new late service will run at 22.21 from Watford out to St Albans Abbey Monday to Saturday.
On Sundays, trains will run at 22.07, 22.52 and 23.04.
This is really good news for North Watford residents working late or going out in Watford or St Albans.
