On Friday 14th July, Richard Harrington MP was delighted to visit Cassiobury Junior School in Watford, as part of School Safety Week.
Cassiobury Junior School hosted the first ever school safety programme in Watford. This is a week of activities for Year 6 students that helps to promote safety and prepare them for their secondary school transfer. Around 1,200 students from 20 schools in and around Watford took part in a range of activities, and were given the opportunity to learn about road safety, fire safety, cyber security and first aid.
Watford MP, Richard Harrington said:
"I was delighted to be invited to School Safety Week. On the day that I was there, we covered a range of topics and students got the chance to speak to our local police, as well as representatives from the NSPCC. I think it's so important that students are given this opportunity to learn about keeping themselves safe, and to help prepare them for secondary school. School Safety Week is such a fantastic initiative and I would like to thank the teachers for inviting me and letting me see what it's all about."
