On Saturday 2nd March 2019, Richard Harrington MP joined local residents for the opening of A1 Taxis’ new office at Watford Met Station.
A1 Taxis was established by local resident, Mr Ahtazaz Mirza, and now operates across the Watford and Berkhamsted area. Mr Mirza has been in the taxi trade for over twelve years and celebrated the opening of his newest cab office in Central Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Harrington, who cut the ribbon, said “I’d like to congratulate Mr Mirza on the growth and success of his local business, and wish him all the best with his newest venture.
Not only is Watford a great place to live and work, it is also a popular tourist destination, with attractions like Watford Football Club, the Harry Potter Studios Tour and also our newly expanded indoor shopping centre. All of that means that the demand for taxis will only increase, and so I’m confident that business will be booming for A1Taxis as they set up a base in Watford.”
Mr Ahtazaz Mirza said “I have been living in Watford for 15 years and have been in the taxi business for over 12 years. I always wanted to have my own business so that I could employ local people
I had a vision of eventually having a taxi company which would work similar to Uber’s business plan. I am hoping to have the biggest & best taxi firm in Hertfordshire.
I would like to thank all who attended the opening, including our MP, Mr Harrington.”
