Richard Harrington welcomed the new Minister for Health, Anna Soubry MP, to Watford General Hospital on 12 September to look at the new plans for the Watford Health Campus and visit the Hospital’s maternity ward.
This visit came after significant recent developments with the Watford Health Campus, with the partner for the development being agreed this month and the Government recently providing funding for a much needed access road to the Hospital.
During the visit Ms Soubry met with Hospital staff and Health Campus providers to see current plans for the new site and discuss the future of the project. In the maternity wards, the Minister was also able to see recent improvements made to the wards and to learn about how services will be improved under the new Health Campus.
Richard said:
“I was delighted that the Minister was able to visit Watford General today to see plans for the Health Campus which will make such a difference to the town.
“The Department of Health have been strong supporters of the project, including securing around £7 million for the vital access road and I was pleased to be able to update the Minister at this crucial stage of the project.
“As always, the hard work of the staff of the Hospital was evident during the visit and I will continue to work hard with the Department of Health and all other groups to ensure that the Health Campus is delivered to give the people of Watford the best service possible.”
