On Thursday 11th May, St John's Church of England Primary School was given the green light for their permanent site on Clarendon Road, Central Watford.
The plans were approved by Watford Borough Council and so a brand new state-of-the art building will be under construction soon. The school will cater for students from Reception to Year Six, and will accommodate up to 420 pupils when it reaches capacity in 2022.
St John's Free School opened its doors last year and currently runs reception classes temporarily from St John's Church Hall, Escourt Road.
Richard Harrington, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Watford, said:
"I'm absolutely delighted that St Johns Free School has been given the go ahead for their permanent site on Clarendon Road. I've been working closely with Father David on this for some time and this was the final hurdle! It means we'll have an extra 420 primary school places by 2022, on top of the 3,000 created in Watford over the last five years. "
