Last week there was a long debate on how to re-invigorate British manufacturing.Whilst many of my colleagues debated the role of the Government in the demise of manufacturing I felt it important to look at how our attitude towards it is partly responsible. In previous generations, and today in other countries, people held manufacturing in a positive light and encouraged bright young people into the Industry. This is an ethos we have lost in this country and need to regain if Britain is to manufacture successfully again. An article on my speech can be found here.
