Watford MP Richard Harrington has given his backing to calls for one of the new stations on the Croxley Rail Link to be names Vicarage Road. Following talks with London Underground Richard is confident of a positive result soon.
Richard has been in talks with London Underground to call for a Vicarage Road station, putting forward the views of his constituents. Following a conversation on the 31st July Richard is hopeful for a positive result for the campaign.
The new station will be created as part of the Croxley Rail Link which will provide significant regeneration in one of the most deprived part of the town, and has been made possible by investment from this Government.
Richard said:
“ I fully agree with proposals put forward by Labour and Liberal Democrat groups in Watford and I too will be appealing to TfL for this name change.
“It is only right that the station name marks the significance of Vicarage Road in Watford, not only as the home of Watford FC but also Watford General and the site of the new Health Campus. It is a name that people will recognise and is an important part of Watford’s heritage and future.
