Investing in Key Transport Links

Transport links are vital to Watford’s future and I have worked hard to lock down investment to keep Watford moving and support the local economy.

After decades of delay, the Croxley Rail Link has secured Government funding. The extension of the Met Line to Watford Junction includes two new stations in West Watford. This increase in rail capacity and frequency is set to boost the local economy, but I think it is key that Watford Met is kept open too.

I am now campaigning for the complete redevelopment of Watford Junction Station.

In 2010, 5.5 million journeys were made from the station; in 2014 it increased to 7 million!

With the Met Line extension confirmed and a potential Crossrail link, we need to make sure the station is upgraded and ready to meet demand. Bushey Station and the Abbey Line need investment too, to ensure we have a complete plan for rail across our area.
