Watford parents first to benefit from pilot of 30 hours free childcare Working parents in Hertfordshire will be among the first in the country to benefit from a pilot of 30 hours free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds. In September 2016, some parents in Herts will see their entitlement to free childcare double from 15 to 30 hours. The County Council is working on eligibility requirements now.
Milestone as all Watford schools rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted With the news in November that Francis Combe Academy, Garston, received its first ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, the Schools Inspector, Richard Harrington MP has welcomed that all of Watford’s secondary schools are now rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. In addition, 90% of local primary schools are rated ‘good’ or above in spite of a tougher inspection regime from Ofsted. Speaking about the news, Richard Harrington MP for Watford, said:
